Our own Zoo

So, a couple of weeks ago we went to the Austin Zoo.  We loved it!  With our admission, we also got a couple of bags of food to feed various animals. We took most of the food back home to feed to the animals across the street, our own zoo!

The goats and sheep at our neighbors house!

BABIES!!!

Harper loved giving them food!

We really miss our donkeys, but at least we have the goats and sheep across the street to go and feed.  And Harper loves to take our chicken some "leftovers" and gather eggs.  I guess country living isn't so bad!

Helping Dad

Last weekend, Matt put in our new dishwasher.  He had a little help ;)

And then you have to use this tool Daddy!

She gets very emphatic when doing handi-work!

As Harper would say, "All Done!".
(Don't worry about the countertop, getting a new one soon :)

The Austin Zoo

I have heard many things about the Austin zoo and really wasn't sure what to expect.  It's not your typical zoo- it's more of a sanctuary then anything else.  Anyway, my expectations were not very high and I was not too keen on going, but we did have Groupon tickets for the zoo.  So we decided to go last Sunday and check it out.  Guess what?? We LOVED it!! Once I saw the cat with one eye and the wolf with three legs, I knew it was our kind of zoo!  We had a great time! Harper kept calling all the animals "Gubba" (Gumbo).  We'll work on the animal names for next time!

A Bear!!

We had leftover food for the animals, so we brought it home and fed it to our neighbors.
Pictures of that coming soon!

Beach time!

The day after Christmas the whole family went down to Port A for some fun in the sun! We had a great time taking walks by the beach, having bonfires at night, going on a boat ride to see dolphins, and just hanging with the family in the rented condo.  It was hard to leave after 4 nights, but alas, we had to get back to reality.

CHRISTMAS!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our Texas family!  It was so great to see the excitement in Harper as she realized what those pretty boxes and bags were that had lived under the tree all month. And it was great to spend lots of good times with our family.  Maybe one day, we'll be able to be with the Garcia side of the family for Christmas..... Miss my familia

San Antonio!

Over Christmas break, Matt and I decided to spend one night in SA with the girl.  We hit up the Riverwalk and Sea World.  Harps LOVED Sea World.  She loved Shamu and the Sesame Street Characters.  It was a nice getaway!

A Nice evening riverboat cruise.

Pretty Christmas lights.
